The 16
th ranked Montana Western Bulldogs hosted the St. Thomas Bobcats in non-conference action Thursday night at the Straugh Gymnasium and came away with a hard fought victory 87-75. The game was close until the final moments. As the Bulldogs struggled on defense early on and missed nine free throws in the first half. With a little over a minute remaining in the half the Bulldogs opened up a nine point lead, only to see it cut to two by the break. A back-and-forth battle ensued until
Paige Holmes, Shannon Worster, and Brianna King hit huge shots to seal the victory for the Bulldogs.
Stars of the Game
Brianna King scored 32 points on 9-17 shooting, she was also 11-13 from the charity stripe.
Britt Cooper scored 17 points and had five blocks.
Cierra Lamey had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Stat of the Game
The Bulldogs were 27-39 from the line, shooting 18 more free throws than St. Thomas.
Coach Woolley's Thoughts
"They came in a punched us in the mouth, we struggled on defense for a bit, but we responded. Our freshman came in and gave us a spark. We made free throws in the second half, (Britt) Cooper was good and Bri (Brianna King) carried us scoring 32 points."

The Bulldogs improve to 4-1 while the Bobcats fall to 0-3. Â

The Bulldogs are off until Thanksgiving when they travel to Caldwell, Idaho to take part in the Best Western Caldwell Inn and Suites Lady Yote Classic. They will face the College of Idaho on Nov. 24 at 7 p.m. and Eastern Oregon University on Nov. 25 at 3 p.m.
