The Original Baxter was introduced over a decade ago, and after over 70 dog years of hyping fans with that "Bulldog Spirit", his suit was in need of an upgrade. As part of the Montana Western Athletics rebrand that took place in the spring of 2017. The mascot makeover was initiated so as to match the new branding.

When not chasing Saints, Bears, and Orediggers out of the Straugh Gymnasium or Vigilante Field, Baxter can be seen around campus playing in the snow or napping in the sun.

Baxter is a vital part of the Montana Western presence in the Dillon community.
