Great Falls, Mont, - The 20
th ranked Montana Western Bulldogs (22-7, 11-7) cruised to an easy victory over the University of Great Falls Argos (12-17, 1-17) 72-48 Saturday night at the McLaughlin Center.
The Bulldogs started out hot, hitting their first three shots from downtown and never looked back. The Argos tied to keep things close, cutting the Bulldog lead to two a couple of times. But the Bulldogs wouldn't allow them to get any closer, and coasted to the big victory.
The Bulldogs hit 11 long distance shots for 44 percent and shot 40 percent from the field for the game. As the Bulldogs got production from nearly everyone.
Aniese Palmore (Santa Moncia, Calif.) and
Kaye Bignell (Avon, Mont.) each had 17 points in limited playing time.
Cierra Lamey (Wise River, Mont.) scored nine points. And
Alexa Welch (Helena, Mont.) scored a career high eight points.
Jill Jacobs (Camano Island, Wash.) and
Taylor Howlett (Spokane, Wash.) each scored seven.
The Bulldogs will host Rocky Mountain College on Tuesday Feb. 28 at 7:00 p.m. in the first round of the Frontier Conference Playoffs.
