Bulldogs Turn Out the Lights

Both the offense and defense shine in blowout win

Story of the Day
The Bulldogs traveled to Havre in the midst of a three game losing streak, and didn't look like a team that was struggling, The Bulldogs wasted no time getting thing started, scoring on the first possession of the game. The Bulldogs put together a complete game, compiling nearly 600 yards of offense and the defense forced 6 turnovers, in route to a 61-7 route of the MSU-Northern Lights at Blue Pony Stadium.

Stars of the Game
Senior Quarterback Bennett Gibson threw for 330 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for 2 more. 
Sophomore Wide Receiver and Special teamer Devyn Christian had 7 seven tackles and was a force on special teams.
Senior Safety Jay Owens Returned an interception 51 yards for a touchdown.

Stat of the Game
6. The Bulldogs forced 6 Lights turnovers, including 5 interceptions. The Bulldogs didn't turn the ball over for the first time this season.

Turning Point
With the Bulldogs up 20-0 late in the second quarter. Jay Owens Intercepted a pass and returned it 51 yards for the score. On the Lights next possession, Lineman Denzel Maua picked off the Lights quarterback and brought it back to the 1 yard line, where the ball was knocked loose and teammate Nate Masterson fell on it for the touchdown. The two defensive scores put the game out of reach.

The Bulldogs improve to 2-3, and 2-2 in conference play. The Lights drop to 0-4

The Bulldogs have a bye week, and will host No. 5 Montana Tech on Oct. 7 for Booster Bash. Kickoff is set for 1p.m.
