Bulldogs Open Tournament Play Against Dillard

Billings, Mont. - Montana Western women's basketball team will face Dillard University in the first round of the NAIA DI Women's Basketball National Championship Wednesday March 14 at 1:45 p.m. at Rimrock Auto Arena at MetraPark in Billings, Mont.

The Bulldogs finished the season at 24-8 good for second place in the conference, just one game out of first place. The Bulldogs are making their second-straight tournament appearance after a tem year absence. Last season the Bulldogs lost in the second round on a buzzer-beater to eventual champions Oklahoma City. 

The Bulldogs' Brianna King, who averages just under 19 points per game, was named Frontier Conference Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year. She is the first Bulldog to be named Player of the Year in 11 years. 

The Bulldogs are a four-seed in the tournament and will play fifth-seed Dillard University who is 23-5 and 9-3 in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference. The Bleu Devils won the conference tournament. They average 29.9 defensive rebounds per game and are the top team in the country in defending the three-point shot. Dillard is making their eighth appearance in the Tournament and first since 2004.
