The Montana Western Bulldogs hosted the MSU-Northern Lights to open the home portion of the 2018 schedule. The Bulldogs scored in bunches early to come away with and 55-3 victory.Â
After coming up empty early the Bulldogs struck twice in 13 seconds to take a 14-0 lead. They never looked back coasting to the big win, all three quarterbacks saw action and eight different players ran the ball. The Bulldogs defense hel the lights offense in check, only surrendering a field goal and forcing three turnovers.
Jason Ferris led the bulldogs with 13 tackles, and tackle for loss, a sack and an interception.Â
Stars of the Game
The Bulldog Defense held Northern to just three points and 280 yards of offense, They also had three takeaways and forced two stops on fourth down.
Nolan Donisthrope had 82 yards on five carries and scored twice, including a 58 yard scamper in the third quarter.

The Bulldogs ran for more yards (343) than they did passing (310).
Five of the Bulldog touchdown drives lasted 1:04 or less.Â
The Bulldogs So Far
The Bulldogs improve to 2-0 overall and 2-0 in the Frontier Conference. While the Lights fell to 0-2 in conference play and 1-2 overall.
