The Montana Western offense struggled against a stout Montana Tech defense, totaling just 150 yards of offense. The Bulldogs struck first with a 24 yard field goal after a muffed punt. Tech responded with a long drive culminating ina touchdown to take a 7-3 lead. Late in the first quarter the Bulldog defense forced a safety and trailed 7-5. Tech was able to string a drive together late in the half to go into the break with a 14-5 lead. On the opening drive of the second half Carson Hritsco intercepted a tip pass and returned it 47 yards to bring the Bulldogs within two at 14-12. The Orediggers responded just a few play later on a long scoring pass play to bring the lead back up to nine. The Bulldogs couldn't answer as they struggled to sustain drives and get back into the game. Tech added two late scores to go on the to 35-12 homecoming win. 

Individual Leaders

• Jon Jund was 13-33 for 87 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT.
• Kylar Prante ran for 41 yards on 12 carries.
• Jason Ferris had 11 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and one sack. 
• Tyley Folkes ran for 190 yards and a score on 30 attempts for the Orediggers.

• The Bulldogs were fifth in the nation on third-downs (49.1 percent) but converted just two of 15 attempts. 

The Bulldogs will travel to Helena, Mont. to face 3-2 Carroll College on Oct. 19.  Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
