Bulldogs Rout Southern Oregon 69-29 to Close 2019 Season

Jund's seven touchdowns leads Bulldogs to blowout win

The Bulldogs scored 10 touchdowns to improve to 7-3 with a 69-29 rout of Southern Oregon on senior day. Jund and the offense were clicking on all cylinders as the Bulldogs racked up 620 yards of total offense. Jund found Simkins for three touchdown strikes while also connecting with Trey Mounts and Kylar Prante for long scores. While the Bulldogs were dominating through the air, the ground game was not to be outdone. The Bulldogs ran over and through the Raiders for 242 yards with Jund, Prante, and JD Ferris all finding the endzone. The defense had seven tackles for loss and five sacks. Joe Caicedo forced a SOU fumble and Jason Ferris picked it up returned it untouched for a score.

Individual Leaders

  • Jon Jund was 16-26 for 325 yards and five touchdowns. He also ran for 88 yards and two scores. 
  • Nate Simkins had seven catches for 153 yards and three touchdowns. His fourth straight game of 100 yards receiving. 
  • Kylar Prante had 12 carries for 118 yards and a score. He also had a 64 yard touchdown catch. 
  • Jason Ferris had 13 tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack and a fumble recovery return for a touchdown. 
  • Wyatt Hutchinson was 24-42 for 330 yards and three touchdowns for the Raiders. 
  • Michael Chisley Jr. had three kick returns for 133 yards including a 96 yards return for a score. He also had four tackles for SOU.

  • Nate Simkins set a new school record with 13 receiving touchdowns this season. Surpassing the mark set by Craig Cornelius (2008) and Bobby Beers (1994).
  • The 69 points were the most the Bulldogs have scored in a game since scoring 61 at MSU-Northern in 2017.
