Women's Basketball Game Notes - Week 7

Bulldogs travel to MSU-Northern and host Providence

COMING UP: The Bulldogs open the 2019 Frontier Conference season on the Hi-Line against No. 14 MSU-Northern. Opening tip from the Armory Gymnasium is set for 6 p.m. on Dec. 5. The Bulldogs will return home for a matchup against No. 19 University of Providence. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. in the Straugh Gymnasium.

LISTEN: Both games can be heard on KDBM AM 1490 in Dillon or online. Justin Fox and Sage Fadness will be on the call providing the play-by-play for all home games this season.

LOOKING AT THE OPPONENT - MSU-NORTHERN: The Skylights are 7-0 and have a stifling defense. They are first in the nation in points allowed per game (43.1), opponent field goal percentage (27.0) and opponent 3-point field goal percentage (17.7). Hailey Nicholson averages 10.4 points per game and leads the team in rebounds (7.6), steals (1.7) and blocks (1.6) per game. McKenzie Gunter leads the Skylights with 12.4 points and 4.6 assists per game. 

LOOKING AT THE OPPONENT - PROVIDENCE: The Argos have been outscoring their opponents by 32.4 points a game and lead the nation with 11.4 made 3-point shots and 21.1 assists per game. Bailey Cartwright leads the team with 18.7 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks per game. Emilee Maldonado is 8th in the nation in assists per game (5.71) and assist/turnover ratio (3.3). Parker Esary is fifth in the nation shooting 64.4 percent from the floor.
