HISTORY: The 2019 season marks the 88th year of Bulldog football, recording a 253-352-12 all-time record with 16 conference championships. Budget woes put a hold on football for the 1937 and 1938 seasons. World War II put a halt on football from 1942 to 1946 and the state eliminated football at Western in 1987.

EASTERN OREGON: The Bulldogs are 1-4 in the last five meetings with EOU. Eastern won 54-51 in a three overtime thriller last season. The Mountaineers give up 450 yards of offense a game and 240 yards on the ground. 

NATIONALLY RANKED: The Bulldogs are ranked 19th in the second coaches top-25 poll. The Bulldogs have been ranked or received votes in 43 of the last 54 polls since 2015. 

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: Junior linebacker Joe Caicedo was named Frontier Conference  and NAIA National Defensive Player of the Week. He recorded 10 total tackles, .5 tackles for loss and returned two fumbles for touchdowns. Junior running back Kylar Prante ran for a career-high 187 yards a two scores and was named Frontier Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Senior linebacker Jason Ferris was named Frontier Conference Special Teams Player of the Week. He blocked a RMC field goal attempt.
