LOOKING AT THE OPPONENT - UNIVERSITY OF PROVIDENCE: The Bulldogs will make the trip to Great Falls for the second time in two weeks. The Argos rolled to a big 84-67 win on Feb. 8 thanks to a 24 point-12 rebounds double-double by Parker Esary and 22 points from Emilee Maldonado. The Argos shot 55 percent from the floor and made 11 3-pointers in the win. This game will be the rubber match of the season series as the Bulldogs won 73-60 back in December. Esary is leading the Nation in field goal percentage connecting at a staggering 64.7 percent clip, averaging 15.1 points and 8.5 rebounds a game. Maldonado is 10th in the country in 3-point percentage (42.2 percent) and Jenna Randich is 6th in the nation at 43.5 percent. Bailey Cartwright is 12th in the country in total rebounds (247) and is averaging 9.5 a game and 1.5 blocks a game for the Argos.Â
LOOKING AT THE OPPONENT - MSU-NORTHERN: The Bulldogs meet the Skylights for the second time in two weeks. On Feb. 6 the Bulldogs were able to avenge an earlier loss in December by knocking off the Skylights 58-45 in the Straugh Gymnasium. Northern is a great defensive team, holding opponents to just 34.6 percent from the field (8th in the country) and just 26.2 percent from 3-point range (3rd in the nation). The Skylights are holding opponents to just 54.8 points a game (7th in the country). Hailey Nicholson is 8th in the nation in blocks per game (2.1) and is 11th in total blocks with 44. She also leads the team in rebounds (7.9), assists (2.8) and steals per game (1.3). Peyton Kher leads the team in scoring with 10.5 points a game.Â
