Women's Basketball Game Notes - Week 17

Bulldogs Host Montana Tech and LC State to Close Out Regular Season

COMING UP: The Bulldogs will close out the regular season with home games against Montana Tech on Feb. 27 at 5:30 p.m. and Lewis-Clark State College on Feb. 29 at 5:30 p.m.

SENIOR NIGHT: The Bulldogs will honor their only senior, Savanna Bignell, with a short ceremony following the game against LC State on Saturday. 

LOOKING AT THE OPPONENT - MONTANA TECH: The Bulldogs meet the Orediggers for the third time this season. The Bulldogs have won the previous two meetings, but have not faced Tech in over a month. The Orediggers are holding opponents to 35.3 percent from the field (10th in the nation), just 26.7 percent from 3-point range (5th in the nation) and allowing just 59.5 points a game (15th in the country). Tavia Rooney is leading the team in rebounds per game with 10.9 (9th in the nation).  She is second in the nation in defensive rebounds a game (8.4) and sixth in total rebounds (304). She is also leading Tech in Steals (2.1) and blocks (1.3) per game. Mesa Williams is scoring 15.9 points a game and is 22nd in the nation in total scoring (444). 

LOOKING AT THE OPPONENT - LEWIS-CLARK STATE COLLEGE: The Bulldogs and Warriors meet in the rubber match of the season series. Both teams won at home earlier this season and the game has huge implications on both playoff seedings and possibly the conference championship. The Warriors are holding opponents to just 59.1 points a game (13th in the nation and are holding them to just 27.6 percent from beyond the arc. They have recorded 93 blocks (21st in the nation) with Abbie Johnson leading the way with 26 this season. Kiara Burlage is shooting 52.2 percent from the floor (15th in the country) and is averaging 15 points and 7.5 rebounds a game. Peyton Souvenir leads the team in assists (3.9) and steals per game (2.2).
