Warriors Top Bulldogs in Frontier Semifinals

The Basics
Score: No. 17 Montana Western 58  – No. 21 Lewis-Clark State College 75
Record: UMW (20-11, 12-6), LCSC (21-9, 11-7)
Location: Straugh Gymnasium - Dillon, Mont. 

The Bulldogs struggled in the second quarter and trailed by 14 at the half and were unable gain any traction as the LC State Warriors were able to cruise in the Frontier Conference Championship game with a 75-58 win. Both teams started fast combining for 15 3-point shots int he first 20 minutes. UMW's offense cooled down in the second and couldn't keep up with the Warriors as four Warriors scored in double-figures as they rolled to the big win. 

Top Performers 
  • Savanna Bignell scored 13 points, six rebounds and dished out four assists.
  • Jenni Weber went 4-8 from downtown for 12 points.
  • Gracey Meyer scored 12 points, two rebounds, and an assist.
  • Jamie Nielson scored 16 points and four rebounds for LC State.
  • Kiara Burlage had a 13 point- 12 rebounds double-double and added four assist for the Warriors.  

Inside the Box Score
  • The Bulldogs committed 11 turnovers in the first half. 
  • LC State was 15-16 from the free-throw line and 11-11 in the first half.

The Bulldogs will wait until Wednesday, March 11 when the NAIA releases the bracket for the 2020 National Championship.
