Fitzgerald scores career-high 37 points in loss

Brynley Fitzgerald's career-high 37 points were not enough as the Bulldogs came just short in a 81-75 loss to No.7 Carroll College Saturday night. Trailing by as much as 13 late in the third quarter, Montana Western made a run to tie the game at 71 on a Shainy Mack 3-point basket with 2:31 remaining in regulation. However, the Bulldogs had three turnovers in the final minutes and the Saints hit all six of their three throws to escape with the win and avoid the upset.

  • Brynley Fitzgerald scored 37 points on 10-15 shooting and 6-9 from 3-point range. She added two assists and two rebounds. 
  • Paige Holmes had 12 points, five steals, four rebounds and two assists. 
  • Sydney Sheridan scored 11 points, three assists and two rebounds. 
  • Christine Denny scored 25 points, four steals, two rebounds and two assists for Carroll College
  • Danielle Wagner scored 19 points, three steals and three assists for the Saints.

  • Fitzgerald's 37 points were the most by a Bulldog since Bri King scored 37 on March 19, 2019 in the National Championship game.
