The Bulldogs fell to the sixth ranked Carroll College Fighting Saints 63-55 Saturday night. The Bulldogs defense was stingy all night, but the offense struggled early on. UMW found themselves down nine after the first quarter and down 14 midway through the second. The Bulldogs finally click offensively and cut the deflect to just three heading into halftime. The second half was a battle, the Bulldogs trailed by two with five minutes left in the game. But to many empty possessions proved costly as the Saints hit key shot down the stretch to escape with the win.

• Brynley Fitzgerald scored 15 points and five rebounds.
• Paige Holmes scored 11 points, six rebounds, three assists and a steal.
• Shainy Mack scored 10 points, three rebounds and a steal. 
• Jamie Pickens went 9-11 from the field for 20 points, nine rebounds and three assists for Carroll. 
• Danielle Wagner scored 14 points, eight rebounds and four assists for the Saints.

• The Bulldogs started the game 0-9 and didn't make their first field goal until there was 1:50 left in the first quarter.

The Bulldogs will host Carroll College again tomorrow, Feb. 21 to close out the regular season. Tip-off from the Straugh Gymnasium is set for 2:05 p.m and will be televised on SWX. Channel 18.3 and 199 in Dillon.
