DILLON, Mont. – UMW athletics will see six events this week between Women's Volleyball, Cross Country, Football, and Men's and Women's Basketball.  
 
VOLLEYBALL
The UMW Volleyball team comes off of a big 3-0 win last Saturday and hopes to carry the momentum into this week as they take on the No. 15 ranked Montana Tech and Rocky Mountain College at home. The Bulldogs are 1-1 with the Orediggers this season. The first meeting the two had, the Bulldogs defeated Montana Tech in three straight sets. The Bulldogs last met the Orediggers in Butte on Oct. 5 and fell three sets to none. The Bulldogs will finish up conference play on Friday for senior night against the Battlin' Bears. The Bulldogs are looking to snag their first win against RMC after falling in a five-set match in the preseason tournament and 3-1 on Oct. 7. Wednesday night will be Youth Night for the Bulldogs. All youth get in free and there will be a poster signing after the match. ASA is also sponsoring a canned food drive and asks fans to bring a can to support the cause. If you bring a can to either event, you will receive a free bag of popcorn.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
The UMW Men's Basketball team is back on the road this weekend with a matchup with Warner Pacific University in Butte, Mont. The Bulldogs come into the matchup after going 1-1 last weekend in Atherton, Calif. They defeated the Cal-Maritime Keelhaulers, then fell to Menlo College. Warner Pacific will be playing their first matchup of the season against the Bulldogs, despite playing an exhibition game against Gonzaga University this week.

CROSS COUNTRY
The Men's and Women's Cross-Country teams have a big week this week as they travel to Helena, Mont. for the Frontier Conference Cross Country Championships. The meet will be held at Bill Roberts Golf Course. Times are as follows:
Men's 8k: 10:30AM MST
Women's 5k: 11:00AM MST
 
FOOTBALL
The Bulldog football team (5-4, 4-4) will be on the road this week for a big conference re-match with the Montana Tech Orediggers (6-2, 6-2). The last time the two teams faced, the Bulldogs lost to the Orediggers 33-24 on Vigilante Field on Sept. 24. The Bulldogs come into the matchup on a two-game win streak after defeating the MSU-Northern Lights 66-0 this past weekend. The Montana Tech Orediggers come into the matchup on a two-game win streak and defeated Rocky Mountain College last Saturday 20-17.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The UMW Women's Basketball team open their season this week with a home opener against Dickinson State (N.D.), their first home season opener since the 2018-19 National Championship season. The Dickinson State Blue Hawks will come into the matchup having played four games prior to facing the Bulldogs. They are currently 2-0 and are slated to play MSU-Northern and Montana Tech this week before facing the Bulldogs.
