Women's Basketball Inks Two Transfers From North Idaho College

DILLON, Mont. – The Montana Western head women's basketball coach Lindsay Woolley announced the signing of two additions to the 2022-23 roster. Cardinals Payton Hagy and Maggie Graves of North Idaho College join the Bulldogs for the upcoming season.

Payton Hagy is a five-foot-five guard from Ephrata, Wash. During her freshman year at North Idaho, Hagy played in a total of 19 games and scored a total of 178 points on the season. She averaged 9.4 points per game and was her team's leading scorer. She also picked up 20 steals and 46 rebounds. A 2021 graduate of Ephrata High School, Hagy was a four-year varsity starter on her basketball team. She received three all-conference nominations, was named team MVP three years in a row, and became one of the top 20 scorers in Ephrata High School girls' basketball history. She averaged 17 points per game her senior year, as well as 6.8 rebounds and four steals per game. Hagy also participated in golf during her high school career and was a regional champion her senior year. Payton is the daughter of Dale and Rhonda Hagy and plans on continuing to pursue her degree in elementary education.

Maggie Graves joins the Bulldogs from Eureka, Mont. Graves is a five-foot-ten forward that averaged 5.6 points per game last season for North Idaho. She scored a total of 107 points and picked up 103 total rebounds for the Cardinals. She also tallied 15 steals, 17 assists, and four blocks. A 2020 graduate of Lincoln County High School, Graves was a four-year starter for her team. She was named to the all-state basketball team both her junior and senior years, along with being named to the District 7B all-conference team three times. She was named to the academic all-state team all four seasons. Graves also played four years of varsity volleyball and was awarded with two all-conference honors and an all-state recognition. Maggie joins the long list of UMW alumni family members as she is now the sixteenth member of her family to become a Bulldog. Maggie is the daughter of Joel and Leslie Graves and plans to continue to pursue her degree in business.
