The no. 4 ranked Montana Western Football team (7-1, 5-1) picked up their fourth straight win last weekend in a convincing win over the MSU-Northern Lights (0-8, 0-6) in Havre. The Bulldogs saw seven different players record a touchdown, including Jake Humphrey who rushed for two touchdowns and 97 yards in the game. John Mears went a perfect 8-8 on PATs in the game, helping him to surpass the UMW career scoring record held by Eric Zahler that was set in 2004 at 266 points. Mears now has a career total of 272 points and counting.
Montana Western will return for a big Frontier Conference matchup against the no. 14 Carroll College Fighting Saints. Carroll enters the matchup as the top Frontier team riding a win over the no. 16 ranked Southern Oregon this past weekend. Carroll remains undefeated in conference play and is 7-1 on the season. The game will kick off at 12pm in Bulldog Stadium.
