Western Women’s Basketball Takes on #23 Rocky Mountain and (RV) Carroll

DILLON, Mont. – The Montana Western women's basketball program (7-11, 5-9 FC) travels to instate rivals #23 Rocky Mountain (13-7, 10-4 FC) and (RV) Carroll (14-6, 12-2 FC) this weekend.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT…
UMW battled hard in a 71-65 loss to #12 Montana Tech last week.
 
Against the Orediggers, the Bulldogs shot 41.7 percent (25-60) from the field, 36.4 percent (8-22) from three, and 7.8 percent (7-9) from the charity stripe. They tallied 34 rebounds, 14 assists, seven steals, and one block. Isabella Lund led all players in both points (18) and assists (seven). Brooke Deyak also posted double figures with 15 points. Keke Davis eanred game-highs in rebounds (10) and steals (three) and swatted the lone block of the game for Western.
 
THE PACK PERSPECTIVE
The Bulldogs are averaging 63.7 points, 37.3 rebounds, and 13.6 assists per game. They are shooting 38.7 percent from the floor, 32.8 percent from downtown, and 68.4 percent from the foul line. Additionally, Western is registering 9.3 steals and 2.8 blocks per game on the campaign.
 
Two Bulldogs are putting up double figures in scoring; Isabella Lund (12.7), Bailee Sayler (10.6). Keke Davis is pulling down a team-high 6.4 boards.  Lund also tops the team in assists (4.0) and steals (2.3). Sayler swats 1.1 blocks per game. Davis is shooting a team-high 49.1 percent from the field while Deyak leads from beyond the arc (44.4) and Sayler tops the team from the foul line (84.0).
 
STACKING UP
Western ranks fifth in the Frontier in three categories: three-point percentage (32.8), offensive rebounds (11.4), and assists (13.6).

BROOKE'S BIG NIGHT
Brooke Deyak went off for a career-high 15 points against Montana Tech. She shot 66.6 percent (4-6) from the floor and 100.0 percent from both beyond the arc (3-3), and at the line (4-4).

ATTACKING THE GLASS
Keke Davis recorded her third double-digit rebounding performance of the season with a game-high tying 10 boards against the Orediggers.

HOW MAY SHE ASSIST YOU?
Isabella Lund leads the Frontier in assists per game (4.0). She has posted 16 multi-assist games on the year, including dishing out a career-high matching seven in each of her last two appearances.

  • Paige Wasson leads the team at 19.3 points per game, followed by Brenna Linse (14.8) and Isabelle Heggem (14.2).

  • They are shooting 39.7 percent from the field, 27.2 percent from distance, and 75.7 percent from the line.
  • Willa Albrecht leads the team in points (16.0), rebounds (5.4), assists (1.9), steals (2.6), and blocks (1.0) per game.
  • Jillian Kanduch is also averaging double figures in scoring with 10.0 points oer game.
  • Kenzie Allen is tied with Albrecht for the team-lead in assists (1.9).
  • As a team, Carroll is fifth in the nation turnovers (12.3), and 19th in both free-throw percentage (75.6) and points allowed (55.4).
SERIES HISTORY
The Bulldogs are 100-73 all-time against the Battlin' Bears. Earlier this season, Western fell 67-54 (12/6/25).
 
UMW is 70-100 all-time against Carroll. In the last matchup between the two, the Bulldogs were narrowly defeated 59-56 (12/5/25).
 
LOOKING AHEAD
Following the weekend, Western returns home for four straight contests. Up first, the Bulldogs welcome Bismarck State (2/6).
