IN CASE YOU MISSED IT…
UMW slipped to 6-7 on the year following losses to Dickinson State (63-60) and Bismarck State (87-74) last week.
Against the Blue Hawks, Western shot 34.3 percent (23-67) from the floor, 31.8 percent (7-22) from three, and 41.2 percent (7-17) from the foul line. The Red and Black tallied 47 rebounds, nine assists, 13 steals, and four blocks.
Isabella Lund led the team with 13 points, followed by
Gio Horner (12).
Bailee Sayler and
Kyle Pancost led the game with nine rebounds apiece. Lund dished out a team-high three assists while Sayler and
Tayva Phillips tied for the game-high with three steals each. Pancost swatted a game-high two blocks.
Against the Mystics, the Bulldogs shot 41.9 percent (26-62) from the field, 34.6 percent (9-26) from beyond the arc, and 65.0 percent (13-20) from the charity stripe. They registered 32 rebounds, 13 assists, nine steals, and one block. Lund led the team with 24 points with Sayler and
Keke Davis also in double digits (14 and 13, respectively). Lund also led the team in steals (four) while Horner handed out a team-high six assists and recorded the lone block of the game for UMW.
THE PACK PERSPECTIVE
The Bulldogs are averaging 66.4 points, 38.0 rebounds, and 13.6 assists per game. They are shooting 40.1 percent from the floor, 33.7 percent from downtown, and 67.0 percent from the foul line. Additionally, Western is posting 8.6 steals and 3.0 blocks per game on the campaign.
Two Bulldogs are putting up double figures in scoring;
Isabella Lund (13.8),
Bailee Sayler (11.8).
Keke Davis is pulling down a team-high 6.5 boards. Lund also tops the team in assists (3.7) and steals (2.3). Sayler swats 1.3 blocks per game. Lund is shooting a team-high 48.1 percent from the field while Sayler leads in both three-point percentage (43.1) and free-throw percentage (81.0)
FRESH FACES
In addition to seven new players, Western women's basketball also has a new coaching staff. First-year head Coach
Ryan Sullivan takes the helm after an accomplished stint at Sheridan High School in Sheridan, Wyoming. Sullivan brought
Wes Knox on board to serve as assistant coach.
FROM DOWNTOWN
In the Frontier, UMW sits fourth in three-point percentage (33.7) and fifth in three-pointers per game (7.6). Additionally, the team has hit at least six threes in all but one contest in 2025-26.
HELPING HANDS
The Bulldogs have reached double-figures in assists in 11-of-13 games this season, including a campaign-high 22 at Mayville State (11/22/25).
JEWEL THIEFS
Western has averaged 13.8 steals per game over the last seven contests, up from 8.6 in the first six games of the season. Moreover, they have posted at least seven steals in all of the last seven outings after doing so just once in the first six.
DISHING IT OUT
Gio Horner recorded a career-high six assists against Bismarck State. She has four multi-assist games in 2025-26.

Isabella Lund ranks eighth in the league in scoring at 13.8 points per game.

- They are shooting 38.6 percent from the field, 29.5 percent from distance, and 66.4 percent from the stripe.
- Brooke Dial leads the team swith 12.7 points per game, followed by Ainsley Thurber (10.0) and Eliannah Ramirez (9.8).
- Dial and Thurber share the team-lead in rebounds at 6.0 apiece.
- Ramirez is posting a team-best 2.9 assists per game.
- Dial and Ramirez are both earning a team-best 1.6 steals per game.
- Thurber and McKenna Reggear share the team-lead in blocks (0.7 each).
