HELENA, Mont. – Montana Western's
Natalee Stevens was named Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Women's Cross-Country Runner of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
The award marks the first conference weekly honor of Stevens' career and first for the Bulldogs since 2024.
"Natalee ran a really smart race," head coach
Taylor Grove said. "We had talked about her going out a little slower and controlled. She executed that well and moved up places during the last 3k. She definitely had a strong performance and I'm excited to see how she does in our last two meets."
Stevens was the top Bulldog finisher at the Yellowjacket/Battlin' Bears Open on Oct. 9 in Billings, Mont.
The freshman finished 11th out of 79 runners in the women's 6k race, recording a personal-best time of 23:58.3.
She was the highest-finishing NAIA competitor in the race, highlighting her performance against a competitive field.
It marked the third time this season that the Mapleton, Ore., native finished as Montana Western's top women's runner.
COMING UP …
The Bulldogs compete again Oct. 24 when they travel to Ashland, Neb., for the Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic.
