Montana Western Women’s Basketball Adds Kiera Cox to Coaching Staff

DILLON, Mont. – Montana Western Women's Basketball has added Kiera Cox as an assistant coach ahead of the 2026-2027 season, head coach Ryan Sullivan announced Monday.

"We are incredibly thrilled to welcome Kiera Cox to our coaching staff here at the University of Montana Western," Sullivan said. "Kiera is a dynamic, young coach who brings a tremendous amount of positive energy to our program every single day."

Cox comes to UMW from Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Fergus Falls, Minn., where she played basketball from 2022-2024.

Prior to her time at M State, she began her coaching career at Eagle Ridge Academy in Minnetonka, Minn., serving as the JV head coach and varsity assistant during the 2021-2022 season.

Cox earned her Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts and Science in Fall 2025. She continued her education by earning her coaching certificate the following semester.

"What stands out the most about Kiera is her relentless eagerness to learn and grow as a professional paired with the fact that she has already built fantastic, authentic connections with our players. She understands our team culture, and her ability to relate to the girls will be invaluable as we continue to build something special here in Dillon," Sullivan said.
