The (RV) Montana Western football team (2-2) plays host to Southern Oregon (1-3) Saturday afternoon at Bulldog Stadium.

 LAST WEEK ON... 
Montana Western got back to winning ways with a 41-27 win at Dickinson State last Saturday.
 
The Bulldogs amassed 633 yards of total offense (384 passing, 249 rushing), six touchdowns, and 27 first downs in the game.
 
Kaden LaPlaunt threw for 384 passing yards on 22 completions. He posted four passing TDs and a long of 79 yards. He also rushed six times for 38 yards with one rushing touchdown.
 
Seth Shook caught three touchdowns on five receptions for a game-high 103 yards.  Brody Munson also earned one TD reception to go with 35 yards.
 
Colton Cornwell posted eight catches for 138 yards while Jack Daskam was targeted five times for 48 yards.
 
Aidan Lammers led all players on the ground with 103 yards on 16 carries. Santana Luna ran the ball 10 times for 84 yards and tacked on a touchdown.
 
The Bulldog defense posted for 54 total tackles, including 38 solo efforts, 1.0 tackles-for-loss, 1.0 sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and one interception.
 
Connor Dunlea and Canyon Sargent tied for the game-high with nine total tackles. Sargent also led all players with eight solo takedowns and added one TFL and one sack.
 
Drew Humphrey forced a fumble and snagged an interception for Western with Dunlea earning the recovery on the fumble.

 FROM THE DAWG HOUSE 
The Bulldogs are averaging 32.3 points, 538.0 yards of total offense, 353.5 passing yards, and 184.5 rushing yards per game on the campaign. They have put up 17 touchdowns and 96 first downs.
 
Western has scored on nine-of-14 red zone attempts and converted on 39.13 percent of third downs.
 
The defense has posted 53.0 total tackles, 2.0 tackles-for-loss (32 yards), and 2.0 sacks (18 yards) per game. They have also tallied three safeties, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, one interception, 11 pass breakups, and three QB hurries on the campaign. 
 
 KADEN LAPLAUNT EARNS FC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK 
Kaden LaPlaunt received FC Offensive Player of the Week honors after a five-touchdown, 422-yard game against Dickinson State.  The sophomore QB went 22 of 30 (73.3 completion percentage) for 384 yards and four passing touchdowns. He averaged 12.8 yards per completion. He also carried the ball six times for 38 yards and one rushing touchdown.
 
 GOOD THINGS COME IN THREES 
Seth Shook caught three touchdown passes for the second-straight contest against the Blue Hawks, which marks the fifth time in his career that he has caught multiple touchdowns on five or fewer total receptions. He also registered career-highs in both receiving yards (163) and longest reception (79 yards).
 
 BRODY'S BREAKTHROUGH 
Brody Munson continued to impress for the Bulldogs catching his first-career touchdown pass while also leading the Bulldogs with a career-best 67 kickoff return yards.
 
 ASK AND YOU WILL RECEIVE 
Colton Cornwell caught for a career-high 138 yards against Dickinson State, also marking his first career outing with at least 100 receiving yards.  
 
 CAREER DAY 
Aidan Lammers had strong showing against the Blue Hawks, leading all players with a career-high 103 rushing yards on a career-best 16 carries.
 
 LUNA LET LOOSE 
Santana Luna rushed for his first career touchdown against DSU while posting career-highs in both carries (10) and rushing yards (84).
 
 JACK'S GOT A KNACK FOR IT 
Jack Daskam posted his best game in a Bulldog jersey against Dickinson State, earning five catches for 48 yards and helping Western reach 300 receiving yards for the third time this season.
 
 BAIT AND TACKLE 
Canyon Sargent earned career-bests in both solo tackles (eight) and total tackles (nine) against the Blue Hawks. He is currently tied for second on the team with 19.0 tackles on the year.
 
 GIMME THAT! 
Drew Humphrey registered the Bulldogs first interception of the season with his game-sealing fourth-quarter snag against DSU.

 SAFETY FIRST 
The Bulldogs have recorded three safeties this season, the most since they earned two safeties during the 2019 campaign.
 
 RACK 'EM UP 
Western has posted at least 50 tackles in each of the last three contest, including a season-high 64 against Montana Tech.
 
 SHARING THE WEALTH 
22 Bulldogs have recorded multiple tackles on the season, with 13 tallying five or more.
 
 BULLDOGS IN THE RANKINGS 
The Bulldogs are ranked in the top 25 in three stat categories. They lead the nation in passing yards per game (353.5) while sitting fourth in total yards per game (537.8) and 15th in total offense (2,151 yards).
 
Individually, QB Kaden LaPlaunt ranks third in the country in passing TDs (14) and sixth in passing yards (1,273).
 
Wide Receivers Seth Shook (seven) and Eli Nourse (six) sit fourth and eighth in receiving touchdowns, respectively. Shook is also ranked 16th in the NAIA in points (42) while Nourse is 21st in total receiving yards (388).
 
Running back Aidan Lammers is 17th in the nation in yards per carry (7.0).

 THE OPPONENTS 
Southern Oregon is 1-3 on the year, posting 26.6 points, 321.8 passing yards, 104.6 rushing yards, and 426.4 yards of total offense per game. They have tallied 14 touchdowns, four field goals, 107 first downs, and have a 44.0% third down conversion percentage.
 
The Raiders sit fifth in the NAIA in pass yards per game, 17th in total offense, and 20th in first downs.
 
Dom Montiel leads the team with 312.0 passing yards per game and 10 total touchdowns.
 
Fresh Ison averages a team-best 76.0 rush yards per game, followed by Gunnar Yates at 30.7. Ison, Yates, Montiel, and Coen Coloma have all recorded one rushing score for the Raiders.
 
Douglas Dawson is posting 79.8 receiving yards per game, followed by Walker Bonar with 64.8 yards per game.
 
Bonar, Sean La Chapelle, and Milan Reilly have each recorded three touchdown catches. Dawson, Ison, Caden Simmons, and Tanner Starbuck have all caught one receiving touchdown.
 
On the defensive side, Raiden House leads the Raiders with 10.6 tackles per game, followed by Isaiah Griffin (5.6) and Keau Hadley Jr. (5.0). House also paces SOU in solo tackles (31), and tackles-for loss (4.0).
 
Bryson Kievet (2.5), Garrett McCray (2.0), Brandon Dominguez (2.0), and Jojo Czyz (2.0) all have multiple TFLs as well.
 
House and Braden Bailey each have one forced fumble while Colton Samis has one fumble recovery.
 
Andy Nguyen is 4-of-6 on field goals and 15-of-15 in PATs.  
 
 SERIES HISTORY 
Western is 6-12 all-time against Southern Oregon. Last season, UMW earned the 40-20 win on the road in Ashland, Ore. (10/4/25)
