Eli Nourse Named Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Football Offensive Player of the Week

HELENA, Mont. – Montana Western football's Eli Nourse earned Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Football Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday. This is the second player of the week award of Nourse's career.

"I'm really proud of the offensive unit for the preparation and how they showed up to execute from the get go on the road in the first game, that's tough to do," head coach Ryan Nourse said. "That combined with Eli's readiness to make plays that came his way each time and only playing in the first half was very impressive."

Nourse had a record-setting performance in #18 Montana Western's 49-35 road victory over MSU-Northern. He hauled in nine receptions for 170 yards and a program-record five touchdown catches.

All five touchdowns came during the first half as Montana Western built a 44-7 advantage over the first two quarters. Four of Nourse's five touchdown receptions came in the second quarter, accounting for all 28 of the Bulldogs' points in the period.

The Dillon, Mont., native averaged 18.9 yards per reception, including a game-long 63-yard catch. Nourse totaled 204 all-purpose yards, adding a 34-yard kickoff return, and accounted for 30 points in the victory.

LOOKING AHEAD
The Bulldogs return to Dillon for their home opener Saturday when they host rival Montana Tech. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. MT.
