Wells joined the Bulldogs staff as a student-assistant coach for the 2025 season. He helped the Bulldogs to a 7-3 record as the student-assistant offensive line coach.

He coached three players to Second-Team All-Conference honors during the 2025 season: Ethan Larson, Douglas Jackson, and Dylan Christman.
