Coppin joined the Bulldogs football staff ahead of the 2025 season. He helped UMW to a 7-3 record in his first season with the team. 

In 2025, he coached long snapper Jacob Westberry to an AFCA All-American recognition as well as a Frontier Conference Long Snapper of the Year award. 

He also coached kicker Maclain Burckley, who was named to the Frontier All-Confernce First Team as a kicker and Frontier All-Conference Second Team as a Punter. Burckley also earned three FC Special Teams Player of the Week awards during the regular season.
