The Bulldogs came out and shut out the Eagles offensive attack until NWIC got their first points with 2 minutes left in the first quarter. The Lady Dawgs defense forced 12 turnovers while only committing 3 of their own in way to taking a 50-13 halftime advantage.
It was more of the same in the second half for NWIC, and in the end the Bulldog defense was too much for the Eagles to handle. Allowing 27 total points while forcing 32 turnovers. Sophomore guard Cierra Lamey (Wise River, Mont.) led the Bulldogs in scoring with 16 points (6-8 FG, 2-2 FT). The Lady Dawgs pulled down 19 offensive rebounds giving them plenty of second chance opportunities. Britt Cooper (Harrison, Mont.) was the beneficiary of some of those offensive rebounds including three of her own, and contributing 10 points in the contest.
These two teams will face off again Saturday Oct. 29 in Straugh Gymnasium. Tip off is set for 5:30 pm MST.
