The Montana Western Lady Bulldogs started the game strong against the Northwest Indian College, holding the Eagles to just three points in the first quarter while scoring 30 of their own.
Execution of the offense and a strong zone defense was the recipe for success for the Bulldogs in tonight's contest. In the first two quarters of play, the Bulldogs shot 52% from the field compared to the Eagle's 12%. The defense forced 18 turnovers.
Cierra Lamey (Wise River, Mont.) and
Taylor Howlett (Spokane, Wash.) had a strong first half with 11 and 10 points respectively.
In the second half,
Darby Schye (Malta, Mont.) came on strong, scoring 8 of her 13 total points and recording 10 total rebounds.
Cierra Lamey had a game high for the second consecutive night, scoring 15 points on 7 of 11 shooting.
The Lady Bulldogs are will resume action at the Straugh Gymnasium Nov. 2 against Yellowstone Christian Academy.
