The Yotes came out in a full court press and were making shots, hitting their first three three point shots to jump out to an early lead. The Bulldogs weathered the storm and took a 16 point lead into the half thanks in part to clutch shooting from junior Jill Jacobs (Camano Island, Wash.) and senior Taylor Howlett (Spokane, Wash.) Jacobs hit from beyond the arc on three straight possessions and finished the game with 12 points and three rebounds. Howlett was clutch throughout the game and had a team high 21 points.
The Bulldogs held on to the 16 point lead heading into the final quarter. As it looked like the Bulldogs were going to walk away with an easy victory, but the Yotes then began to catch fire and started to make more three point shots. Poor free throw shooting by the Bulldogs, 48 percent, combined with the Yotes shooting nearly 50 percent from beyond the arc allowed them to cut the Bulldog lead down to four with under a minute to go in the game. The Bulldogs were able to hang on for the five point win
Senior Kaye Bignell (Helena, Mont.) had another strong game adding 17 points and eight rebounds, while fellow senior Aniese Palmore (Santa Monica, Calif.) had 14 points and five assists. Sophomore Britt Cooper (Harrison, Mont.) nearly had a double-double with 10 rebounds and nine points.
The Bulldogs will play again Dec. 3 at 5:30 in Billings, Mont. against Rocky Mountain College.
