Poor Shooting Dooms Lady Bulldogs

The game was a lot closer than the score indicated. The Bulldogs played great defensively, forcing the Skylights into 17 turnovers and 10 steals.

However a 7:31 scoreless stretch spanning the first and second quarters doomed the Bulldogs. The Skylights took advantage and built a 16 point lead that they would not relinquish.

The Bulldogs came out of the intermission with a pesky defense that frustrated the Skylights, and cut the lead to 10. The Bulldog defenders frustrated the Skylights, forcing seven straight empty possessions. Unfortunately the Bulldog Offense could only manage two points in that stretch. And the Skylights hit some big shots to put the game on ice.

The Bulldogs shot just 2-11 from downtown, and just 34 percent from the field for the game.

Sophomore Britt Cooper (Harrison, Mont.) scored 16 points, grabbed six rebounds and had four steals. Senior Aniese Palmore (Santa Monica, Calif.) scored 10 points.

The Bulldogs return home on Jan. 19 and 20 to face the Carroll College Fighting Saints, and the Rocky Mountain College Batlin' Bears respectively. Tip-off is set for 5:30 P.M. on both nights.
