The Saints jumped out to an early lead and looked like they were going to run away with the game. However the Bulldogs tightened up defensively and held Carroll scoreless for over 11 minutes and only giving up two points in the entire second quarter.
The Saints took a 21-20 lead into the half.
Both teams traded buckets throughout the second half. The bulldogs had a 37-36 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
The Bulldogs shot 42 percent from the free throw line going 11-26. Carroll could not take advantage, letting the Bulldogs hang around.
Palmore scored with 17 seconds left in the game to tie the score at 51. The Bulldogs then forced a jump ball, giving them possession with 5.6 seconds left. Palmore took the inbound pass at the top of the key and drove right around the defender for the game winning layup.
Palmore finished with a career high 24 points, and pulled down four rebounds and had a steal.
Britt Cooper (Harrison, Mont.) scored eight points.
Cierra Lamey (Wise River, Mont.) and
Taylor Howlett (Spokane, Wash.) each had seven points.
