Dillon, Mont. – The No. 20 Montana Western Bulldogs (20-6, 9-9) ran into a freight train Thursday night at the Straugh Gymnasium. Losing to the fourth ranked Lewis-Clark State College Warriors (27-1, 15-1) 77-56. 

The Bulldogs played a close first quarter, matching shots and playing tough defensively, trailing only by three heading into the second.

But it was a close as they would get, as they couldn't keep up with the Warriors, who shot 57 percent in the half and 48 percent for the game. 

The Warriors played a tough in your face style of zone defense that the Bulldogs couldn't crack. Unable to set up their offense, the Bulldogs were not able to keep pace with the high flying Warriors. The shots the Bulldogs were able to take, wouldn't fall, while the Warriors on the other hand, knocked down shot after shot to put the game away and cruise to a 20 point victory.

The Bulldogs got no help in scoring from the bench, as only the starters ended up in the scoring column. The Bulldogs were led by seniors Kaye Bignell (Avon, Mont.) and Aniese Palmore (Santa Monica, Calif.) with 16 points apiece. Cierra Lamey (Wise River, Mont.) scored 10 and Britt Cooper (Harrison, Mont.) scored eight points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

The Bulldog close out the home portion of their schedule Saturday night Feb. 18 against Montana Tech Tip-off is set for 5:30 P.M. 

Four seniors, Kaye Bignell, Taylor Howlett, Molly Klinker, and Aniese Palmore, will be recognized in a special senior night ceremony following the game.
