Great Falls, Mont, - The 13
th ranked Montana Western Bulldogs (24-6, 14-4) trampled all over the University of Great Falls Argos (12-17, 4-14) 108-63 Saturday night at the McLaughlin Center.
The Bulldogs were unconscious from beyond the arc Saturday night, shooting 63 percent and making 19 three's en route to a 45 point blowout.
On the Argos first possession of the game they knocked down a triple to give them a brief 3-2 lead. It took the Argos five minutes to score again, and by that time the Bulldogs already had a double digit lead. That was the closest the Argos would get as shots kept falling for the Bulldogs, who shot 63 percent from the field and made 40 field goals.
Dom Robinson (Tacoma, Wash.) continued his hot hand connecting on 6 of 8 shots from downtown, and scored 22 points in just 23 minutes of play, as he sat most of the second half.
Zaccheus Darko-Kelly (Missoula, Mont.) Derek Durocher (Choteau, Mont,) and
Riley King (Missoula, Mont.) each scored career highs, with 22, 16, and 15 points respectfully. Darko-Kelly and Durocher were each 4-5 from downtown.
Kooper Kidgell (Billings, Mont.) added 13 points.
The Bulldogs will host a second round playoff game on Saturday March 4, at 7:00 p.m. The opponent is still to be determined.
