Offense Clicks as Bulldogs Bounce Skylights 78-58

Story of the Night

The 10th ranked Bulldogs hosted the 21st ranked Skylights of MSU-Northern. The offensive struggles plaguing the Bulldogs lately seemed to carry over as the Bulldogs had a turnover and three missed shots in the first four possessions. Until Paige Holmes hit a three in the corner for their first points of the game. After the first UMW lead 17-12 with Tori Anderson leading with 8 points, a rebound, and one assist. The Bulldogs found themselves in foul trouble early with 10 team fouls half way through the second quarter. This put two of the starters on the bench (Cierra Lamey, and Britt Cooper) with two fouls each. Britt Cooper found her third personal foul with 23 seconds left in the second quarter. The Skylights led 34-32, The Bulldogs had 12 Fouls and 7 turnovers in the first half, while only shooting 34%. The Bulldogs led after the third while Bri King scored 6 points to lead the Bulldogs for the quarter. The Lady's turned it on from the first whistle of the fourth quarter to run away with this one 78-58. The Bulldogs did this while suffering 22 team fouls and 12 turnovers.

Stars of the Game

Cierra Lamey was lights out, shotting 66 percent from the field as well as 66 percent from beyond the arc for 15 points, 3 assists, and 1 rebound
Brianna King added 13 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds and 2 steals.
Tori Anderson scored 12 points, while adding 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 rebounds.
Britt Cooper dominated the paint tonight with 11 points, 16 rebounds, and 2 blocks.
Paige Holmes  10 points, and 3 outstanding steals.

Coach Woolley's Thoughts
"We Changed our lineup trying to get thing going (offensively), Tori (Anderson) gave us a huge lift and Cierra (Lamey) player really well. Now We just have to carry this momentum into next week."

The Bulldogs So Far

The Bulldogs improve to 12-6 overall, and 2-4 in conference. The Skylights fall to 9-8 overall and 1-5 in conference play.

Up Next

The Bulldogs will host Carroll College and Rocky Mountain College on Jan. 18 and Jan. 20. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
