Lewiston, Idaho - University of Montana Western Senior runner,
Mindy Kaufman ran a personal best to lead the Bulldogs Saturday at the Inland Empire meet.
Kaufman finished 11th overall in the women's 5k with a personal best time of 18:01. She was the first NAIA runner in a field that consisted of runners from several NCAA division 1 schools. Fellow Senior
Gabi Gomez also set a personal best running a 18:50 to finish 48th overall. The women as a team finished 13th overall and were the third Frontier team to finish.
The men finished in 15th overall and were the fourth NAIA team to finish. The Bulldogs were led by
Russell Kujala who ran a 26:35 to finish 84th overall.
Paul Bielawski was just behind him to finish 90th with a time of 26:53.
The Bulldogs will return to action on Oct. 19, when they host the first ever home meet at the old Sleepy Hollow Golf Course in Dillon, Mont. at 1:30 p.m.
