Dillon, Mont. - The Ninth ranked University of Montana Western Bulldog women's basketball dominated the overmatched Lady Bison of Salish Kootenai College 99-23 Saturday night to start the 2018-19 season off on the right foot.
The Lady Bison scored the first basket of the game, and the Bulldogs responded by going on a 29-5 run to close out the first quarter. The Bulldogs shot fifty percent from the floor and were led by
Tori Anderson who was on fire, connecting on 7-8 shots and 5-6 from beyond the arc for a career high 19 points, in just 17 minutes on the floor.
Shannon Worster set a personal high with 11 points and
Savanna Bignell tied a career-high with 15 points.
More records were set by the Bulldogs as they had program best in steals (32), and margin of victory (76 points).
The Bulldogs held the Lady Bison to just 10 made field goals, on just 30 percent shooting. The Bulldog committed just four fouls and held the Lady Bison to zero free-throw attempts.
All ten players for the Bulldogs saw significant playing time and filled the stat sheet.
Brianna King scored 12 points, dished out five assists, and recorded three steals.
Paige Holmes led the Bulldog defensive attack with five steals, six rebounds, and scored seven points.
The Bulldogs will head to Bozeman, Mont. on Tuesday, Oct. 29 to take on the Montana State Bobcats in an exhibition match. First tip is set for 6 p.m.
