Great Falls, Mont. - Senior
Mindy Kaufman won the Frontier Conference Individual title with a time of 18:39.
Kaufman won her first individual title on a course she is no stranger to, claiming her third win at Hickory Swing Golf Course over the last three years. This time the stakes were higher, with a trip to nationals on the line Kaufman crushed the race, claiming the programs first title and her fourth straight trip to nationals.
Fellow senior
Gabi Gomez punched her first ticket to nationals with a fifth-place finish in a time of 19:22. Sophomore
Eireann O'Connor added a top-ten finish, coming in eighth place with a time of 19:34. O'Conner is on the bubble of qualifying and will have to wait a few days to find out if she will make her second straight trip to the national meet.
In the men's eight kilometer race senior
Russell Kujala finished fourth overall setting a personal best 26:18. Kujala will be making his first trip to nationals. The team finished fourth overall with
Jonathan Harrison,
Tanner Lehr and
Matt Wilson all finishing in the top 20 just three second apart from each other.
The NAIA National Championship meet is in Ceder Rapids, Iowa on Nov. 16. Women's race starts at 9:30 a.m. MST, with the men's race following at 10:30 a.m. MST.
