Bulldog Basketball Heads to Arizona for Three Games

The University of Montana Western Bulldogs Men's basketball team will participate in the Cactus Classic in Chandler, Ariz. over the weekend. They will play three games against Menlo College, Vanguard University and Thompson Rivers University. 

The Bulldogs So Far
  • The Bulldogs are 4-4 overall and 0-2 in Frontier Conference play. 
  • The Bulldogs are coming off a 124-55 blowout win on the road at Salish Kootenai College. Six players scored in double figures in the win over SKC

Who to Watch
  • Kooper Kidgell is averaging a career best 16.4 points a game. He has a team-high 14 steals and recently scored his 1000th career point. 
  • Cedric Boone is averaging 12.8 points a game and has a team-high 34 assists.
  • Troy Scott has a team-high 50 rebounds and three blocked shots. 

Scouting the Opponents
  • The Oaks of Menlo College are 2-6 overall and ranked ninth in the nation in turnover margin (5.0). Henry Cornelious averages 12.75 points per game and is eleventh in the nation in field goal percentage (72.7).
  • The Lions of Vanguard University are 9-0 ranked second in the country in turnover margin (7.1) and average 13 offensive rebounds a fame. Malachi Hoosein averages 13.5 points a a game and Geremy McCay ageraves 7.4 rebounds per game. 
  • The Wolfpack of Thompson Rivers University are 6-8 on the season. The Wolfpack have five players averaging double figures in scoring, led by Derek Rhodes 14.3 points per game. Enrico Nuno averages 7.1 rebounds per game.
