Men's Basketball to Play in the Green and Gold Classic

The University of Montana Western Bulldogs Men's basketball team will participate in the Green and Gold Classic in Billings, Mont. The Bulldogs will take on Dickinson State University and The King's University on Dec. 28 and 29. 

The Bulldogs So Far
  • The Bulldogs are 5-6 overall and 0-2 in Frontier Conference play. 
  • The Bulldogs are coming off a tough 65-64 loss to Thompson Rivers. Kooper Kidgell scored a game-high 18 points. Jaycob Payne recorded a double-double (12 points, 10 rebounds).

  • Kooper Kidgell leads the team in scoring, averaging a career best 15.8 points per game. He also leads the team in total steals with 17.
  • Cedric Boone leads the team with 39 assists. He also averages 12.5 points a game. 
  • Freshman Tanner Haverfield has started the last four games. He leads the team in free-throw percentage, shooting 76.2 percent from the line.

Scouting the Opponents
  • The Bluehawks of Dickinson State are 3-7 on the season. They are led by Melvin Collins (14.0 points and 6.2 rebounds per game)
  • The Eagles of The King's University are 1-14. Nigel Rolle leads the team, shooting 42 percent from the floor and averages 12.2 points a game. Zachary Marcheck averages 10 points and 6.3 rebounds a game.
