Great Falls, Mont. - The University of Montana Western Cross Country teams had another strong performance at the University of Providence Open Friday afternoon. 

The 17th ranked women's team finished in second place just two points behind Dickinson State. Senior Mindy Kaufman finished second overall for the second straight race finishing with a time of 19:05. Sophomore Erieann O'Connor added a top-ten finish to her resume crossing the line in 20:14 for eighth place. Gabi Gomez (20:24), Beth Jansma (20:38), and Emma Adams (21:05) rounded out the scoring five for the Bulldogs. 

The men finished in third in the 8k race. The Bulldogs had three top ten finishers with Russell Kujala leading the pack with a time of 26:54 for a seventh place finish. Tanner Lehr ran a 27:02 for eighth place, and Jonathan Harrison finished ninth in 27:03. Josh Jessop (27:40) and Matt Wilson (27:41) rounded out the scoring five. 

The Bulldogs will compete next week in Missoula, Mont. at the Montana Open on Sept. 28.
