Missoula, Mont. - The Montana Western men's and women's cross country ran at the Steve T. Reader Memorial Cross Country Invitational Friday afternoon hosted by Utah State University. The women's team finished third overall and the men's team didn't score as they only had three runners compete.
The women's team was led by junior
Eireann O'Connor who placed fifth overall (first NAIA finisher) in the 5k race with a season best time of 18:42. In addition,
Marley May finished 14th (19:24),
Emma Adams finished 28th (20:22),
Mason Baseley finished 31st (20:41),
Morgan Baseley finished 34th (21:03),
Liz Varner finished 40th (21:59), and
Megan Tarmichael finished 42nd (23:08).
In the men's 7k race, senior
Josh Jessop led the Bulldogs with a 32th place finish (third NAIA finisher) with a time of 23:35. In addition,
Matt Wilson finished 35th (23:49), and
Luke Lutz finished 36th (23:56).
The Bulldogs will be back in action on Oct. 18 when they host the Montana Western Open at the Beaverhead County Golf Course.
