Missoula, Mont. - The Montana Western men's and women's cross country ran at the Montana Invite Friday afternoon at the University of Montana Golf Course. The women's team finished third overall and the men's team didn't score as they only had three runners compete.
The women's team was led by junior
Eireann O'Connor who placed 11th overall (fourth NAIA finisher) in the 5k race with a season best time of 19:17. In addition,
Marley May finished 13th (19:42),
Shelby Walls placed 15th (19:49),
Emma Adams finished 20th (20:33),
Mason Baseley placed 21st (20:40),
Morgan Baseley finished 22nd (20:46), and
Liz Varner finished 28th (22:28).
In the men's 8k race, senior
Josh Jessop led the Bulldogs with a 14th place finish (fourth NAIA finisher) with a time of 26:59. In addition,
Matt Wilson finished 28th (27:51), and
Luke Lutz finished 35th (28:17).
The Bulldogs will be back in action on Oct. 11 when they travel to Logan, Utah to run in the Steve T. Reeder Memorial Open hosted by Utah State University.
