Bulldogs Win Two Matches to Close KWU Invite

Bulldogs beat Dakota State 3-2, and Friends University 3-1

GAME 1
The Basics

Score: Montana Western 3 – Dakota State 2 (25-23, 25-23, 13-25, 13-25, 15-12)
Record: UMW (6-6), DSU (4-5)
Location: Mabee Arena - Salina, Kan.

Montana Western won two close games to take an early two-set-to-none lead before Dakota State rallied with two quick victories to force the deciding set. The Bulldogs regrouped and stopped the DSU rally to claim the victory in five sets. 

Individual Leaders
Jessie Weber had a 21 dig, 14 kill performance.
McKenna Fink recorded 17 assists and 10 digs. 
Madison Richtmyer had 19 assists and seven digs. 
Tannah Sellers had 15 digs.
Emmah Peterson had six blocks and five kills. 

Inside the Box Score
As a team the Bulldogs recorded 70 digs, and had four player record double digit digs.

Score: Montana Western 3 – Friends University 1 (25-20, 25-22, 17-25, 25-17)
Record: UMW (7-6), FU (5-9)
Location: Mabee Arena - Salina, Kan.


The Montana Western Bulldogs won their third match in a row at the LaQuinta/Rib Crib -KWU Invitational defeating Friends University in four sets. The Bulldogs continue to play together as a team with three players recording double digit kills and four recording double digit digs.

Up Next

The Bulldogs finished non-conference play and will open Frontier Conference play Sept.19 when the travel to Helena, Mont. to play the Carroll College Fighting Saints. The game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
