The Bulldogs played their first game of the season, holding on for 66-56 win over Yellowstone Christian College despite shooting just 33.8 percent from the floor and 15 percent from 3-point range. Bulldogs didn't let the slow start offensively affect their overall play as they put on a impressive defensive display forcing turnovers and owning the glass. The offense got in a groove late as new comerÂ
Jamal Stephenson led all scorers with 17 points. Redshirt freshmen
Colter Miller and
Michael Haverfield both started and played over 30 minutes in their collegiate debuts. Miller collected 14 rebounds and Haverfield scored 10 points.

"I thought we played really hard and competed very well. We missed a lot of shots but that is the difference between practice and game times, I have a lot of confidence in our guys."
