Bignell's Career High Leads Bulldogs Past Orediggers

The Bulldogs rallied in the second half to beat upset-minded Montana Tech 68-62 Thursday night to keep their conference championship hopes alive. Trailing by eight points for most of the third quarter Savanna Bignell made a layup just before the third quarter horn to cut the deficit to one. Bignell and Jenni Weber then hit back-to-back 3-pointers to start the fourth to give the Bulldogs a three point lead that they wouldn't relinquish.

  • Savanna Bignell scored a career-high 21 points and added six rebounds, five assists and three steals.
  • Paige Holmes scored 14 points, six assists and four rebounds. 
  • Gracey Meyer scored 10 points and five rebounds. 
  • Brynley Fitzgerald scored 10 points, four rebounds and two assists. 
  • Tavia Rooney s recorded a 19 point - 18 rebound double-double and added three assists for Montana Tech. 
  • Dani Urick scored 23 points, four rebounds and an assist for the Orediggers.

  • Montana Western committed only five turnovers and forced 16 by the Orediggers.
