DILLON, Mont. The No. 21 Montana Western Bulldogs (2-0) opened the home season with a 71-56 win over William Jessop (3-3) Saturday night behind
Brynley Fitzgerald's double-double.
Fitzgerald scored 16 points, pulled down 14 rebounds and had two assists and two blocks. As the Bulldogs won a turnover and fould filled game. The teams combined for 33 turnover and 31 total fouls
The turnovers allowed the Warriors to stay within striking distance as the Bulldogs couldn't quite pull away until late in the fourth.
Lilly Gopher scored 13 points and five rebounds
JoeLyn Stirton led the Warriors with 16 points.
Montana Western held the Warriors to 29.2 percent shooting.
Notes:
The Bulldogs were 22 of 29 from the free-throw line.
Over half of Jessops made field goals were from 3-point range.
The Bulldogs will travel to Spokane, Wash. to play in the Quality Inn Whit Classic. They will fave Whitman College on Nov. 12 at 6:30 p.m. and Whitworth University on Nov. 13 at 3:30 p.m.
