CHANDLER, Ariz.—The Montana Western Bulldogs (11-6, 0-2) finished out the Cactus Classic 2-1 with a win over the Park Gilbert Buccaneers (4-10, 0-0), 74-57.
The two teams were closely matched for the first half—each scored 12 field goals, both shot about 38 percent from the field, and each had seven second-chance points. Montana Western held a 3-point lead at the half, 33-30.
A 12-0 run for Montana Western in the middle of the second half left the Buccaneers unable to respond. The Bulldogs held their greatest lead of 18 points with 50 seconds left of play and finished out the game with a 17-point difference.
