EUGENE, Ore. - The Bulldog Women's Basketball team moves to 3-1 on the season after 77-52 win over Bushnell University.
How It Happened
The Bulldogs opened the game with a bang as
Joelnell Momberg hit a three-pointer just 18 seconds into the game. After taking a five-point lead, the Bulldogs allowed the Beacons to score six unanswered points. With 11 seconds left until the end of the quarter,
Emily Cooley made a layup that gave the Bulldogs a 17-13 lead going into the second quarter. The second quarter was full of excitement as the Bulldogs put up 26 points, their highest quarter total of the night.
Jordan Sweeney had 11 points in the second quarter alone to propel the Bulldogs to a lead of 42-29 at the half.
The third quarter was much like the second as the Bulldogs scored 24 points. The Bulldogs were able to push their lead to 28 points off of a layup by
Brynley Fitzgerald with 1:59 left in the quarter. The Beacons scored twice more before the end of the third to leave the Bulldogs up 24 points at 67-43. The Bulldogs outscored the Beacons in the fourth quarter 10-9 to finish the game by a score of 77-52.
Notables
- The Bulldogs outshot the Beacons 50 percent to 36.8 percent in the game. Montana Western also tallied 30 points in the paint and were able to score 12 points off of turnovers.
- The Bulldog bench had another successful night as they scored 21 points.
- Jordan Sweeney had an impressive night as she had 22 points, five rebounds, two assists, and a steal.
- Brynley Fitzgerald had 16 points, seven rebounds, a block, and a steal.

Up Next
The Bulldogs take the upcoming week off and are back on the court on Nov. 25 and Nov. 26 in Caldwell, Idaho. They will first see Eastern Oregon University at 1PM MST on Nov. 25.
