Bulldog Volleyball Falls Despite an Extraordinary Frontier Conference Tournament Run

BUTTE, Mont.— The Bulldog Women's volleyball team lost this afternoon in the Frontier Conference Tournament Championship to Rocky Mountain College by a score of 3-1. Despite the loss, the Bulldogs battled hard point after point. Today's game marks the first time since 1998 that a Bulldog volleyball team has moved on to play in a conference tournament championship game.

How It Happened
The Bulldogs started the game in a neck and neck battle with Rocky Mountain. Down 21-18, the Bulldogs fought back and outscored the Battlin' Bears 7-2 to take the first set 25-23. The second set proved similar to the first as both teams played with a high level of intensity. Down 21-13, the Bulldogs strung together a 6-0 run that brought them back within two. Trading points back and forth, the Battlin' Bears were the team to come out on top this time by a score of 23-25.

Despite the tough first two sets, the Bulldogs dropped early in set three to a six-point deficit and were unable to climb back into the set from there. The Battlin' Bears would finish up on top 16-25. Rocky Mountain came out in set four dominating as they did not allow the Bulldogs a lead in the set. Outscoring the Bulldogs 10-3 at the start of the set gave the Battlin' Bears all of the momentum to help them win the final set of the game by a score of 13-25.
