DILLON, Mont.—The Montana Western Bulldogs (16-12, 5-8) downed the Argos of Providence (11-15, 2-11), 89-80.  

 
The Bulldogs kept a consistent lead ahead of the Argos throughout the first half. Montana Western shot 53 percent from the field (17-32) and 50 percent from the arc (9-18); the Argos went 47 percent from the field (16-34) and 33 percent from the 3-point line (3-9). The Bulldogs led the Argos 46-42 at the half.  
 
The teams continued to trade points throughout the second half. The Argos grabbed the lead by one at the 12-minute mark, but the Bulldogs regained their lead on the next possession. In the latter part of the second, the Bulldogs gained a 10-point lead and stayed ahead for the remainder of the game.  

"Great win for the program," coach Mike Larsen said. "I thought everyone stepped up and played well."

Inside the Box Score 

• Montana Western's Max Clark had a double-double—26 points and 11 assists—and led his team in rebounds with seven.  
• Jamal Stephenson added 23 points and seven rebounds for the Bulldogs.
• Brendan Howard led the Argos with 24 points.
